Description

About PET history, that is from several scientists beginning.

Polyester PET, natural fibres and synthetic fibres was discovered by a group of British scientists. They crated the first polyester fiber called Terylene and Dupont bought all legal rights from the Brits and came up with another polyster fiber which they name Dcron. The Polyester market kept expanding, since it was such an inexpensive and durable fiber. Many small textile mills emerged all over the country—many located in old gas stations to produce cheap polyester apparel items.

Polyester is hydrophobic in nature and quick drying. It can be used for insulation by manufacturing hollow fibers. Polyester retains its shape and hence is good for making outdoor clothing for harsh climates. In our industry, polyester is used to textile yarns and sewing threads, spun yarn, raw white yarn and TFO yarn.
