Description:
The module(FBM) performs the required signal conversion by connecting the electrical input signals of the field sensors to the redundant module fieldbus.
Each discrete input is current isolated from other channels and ground, and group isolated when used in conjunction with external excitation.
The module(FBM) can execute programs for discrete inputs, trapezoidal logic, pulse counting, and event sequences, and have configurable options for input filter time.
The input current of the redundant module is doubled. The redundant digital input blocks in Foxboro DCS control software are combined with/from modules to verify each input and select inputs with higher quality for processing in control strategies.
The module can be used as a single unit or as a redundant pair. The modules combine to provide fieldbus module (FBM) level redundancy, receiving field input signals from a universal terminal component through redundant adapters fixed on a compact FBM motherboard.
