Working principle of brushless DC motor
As the name implies, brushless DC motors do not use brushes. Brushless DC motor does not use commutator to adjust the current inside the coil, but uses electronic commutator to transfer the current, which generates AC signal, resulting in motor drive.
The working principle of brushless DC motor is similar to that of brushless DC motor. Lorentz's law of force points out that as long as a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it will be subjected to a force. Because of the reaction force, the magnet will bear equal and opposite forces. When the current passes through the coil, a magnetic field will be generated. The magnetic field is driven by the magnetic poles of the stator, and the same polarity repels each other, while the different polarity attracts each other. If the direction of the current in the coil is continuously changed, the magnetic poles of the magnetic field induced by the rotor will also continue to change, and the rotor will keep rotating under the effect of the magnetic field.
In BLDC motor, the current carrying conductor (stator) is fixed, while the permanent magnet (rotor) is moving.
