Use this Zener barrier from Eaton MTL with a temperature sensor in a hazardous location. It converts electrical signals to current levels that are safe for a connected instrumentation device. For versatility, the unit is compatible with both thermocouples and RTDs (resistance temperature detectors). An integrated alarm output notifies you if the preset temperature limits have been reached, allowing you to act quickly. Thanks to its maximum current consumption of 50mA at 24V, this device is energy-efficient. You'll commonly find it used in industrial automation applications.
MTL5575 converts a low-level dc signal from a temperature sensor mounted in a hazardous area into a 4/20mA current for driving a safe area load
Software selectable features include linearisation, ranging, monitoring, testing and tagging for all thermocouple types and 2-, 3- or 4-wire RTDs (For thermocouple applications the HAZ-CJC plug on terminals 1–3 includes an integral CJC sensor)
Configuration is carried out using a personal computer
A single alarm output is provided and may be configured for process alarm or to provide notice of early thermocouple failure
One Number of channels
Dimensions ( L x W x H ) : 1.58 cm x 10.98 cm x 12.36 cm
