Description
The product is a kind of coal-based extruded activated carbon for packing canister,fire escape hood,self-rescuer etc,for the protection against CO.
Physical activation: The precursor is developed into activated carbons using gases. This is generally done by using one combination of the following processes:
1.) Carbonization: Material with carbon content is pyrolyzed at temperatures in the range of 300–700 ℃, in absence of oxygen (usually in inert atmosphere with gases like argon or nitrogen)
2.)Activation/ Oxidation: Raw material or carbonised material is exposed to oxidizing atmospheres (carbon monoxide, oxygen, or steam) at temperatures above 700℃, usually in the temperature range of 700–900℃. The product is also designed to comply with all the applicable provision of AWWA standard for extruded activated carbon.
Applications
The product is used primarily for packing canister,fire escape hood,self-rescuer etc,for the protection against CO. This carbon is a coarser mesh media and is generally used in deep bed filters where pressure drop may be concerned.It functions as a dual purpose media providing both filtration and adsorption.
