The regeneration of waste activated carbon adopts the physical high-temperature steam regeneration method, which is based on the principle of desorbing and converting some volatile organic substances adsorbed in the waste activated carbon into waste gas during high-temperature heating, volatilizing together with water vapor; During the activation process, the remaining organic compounds are pyrolysed at higher temperatures, and the waste activated carbon is activated in the presence of a quantitative oxidant (water vapor or a small amount of oxygen). The activated carbon restores its original pores and creates new ones, achieving the purpose of regenerating the waste activated carbon.
The system is configured with the following components: a pretreatment system, a washing and dehydration system, a drying system, a rotary regeneration furnace system, a cooling system, a flue gas treatment system and an activated carbon deep processing system.
The pretreatment system of waste activated carbon is mainly to screen and separate the impurities in the waste activated carbon, reduce the ash contained in the recycled activated carbon, and improve the index of the final product.
The washing and dehydration system is mainly used to soak some of the acidic and alkaline waste activated carbon, having a large number of acidic and alkaline substances cleaned off, and then using centrifuges to throw out a small part of the water.
The drying system is mainly used to dry the dehydrated waste activated carbon to reduce the production pressure of the regenerated activation furnace.
The rotary regeneration furnace system is mainly suitable for high temperature pyrolysis of waste activated carbon, steam reactivation, having the closed pores reopened.
The cooling system is mainly used to cool the activated carbon after reactivation to reach the temperature of packaging it into bags.
The flue gas treatment system is also an important part of the regeneration process. The recycled waste activated carbon adsorption substances are diverse, so the flue gas treatment is very important, the waste activated carbon recycling production line with the main flue gas treatment equipment: Flue gas incineration system (RTO), SNCR sellout system, waste heat boiler, quench tower (placing harmful substances to re-generate), dry reaction tower, bag dust collector, activated carbon adsorption box (optional), spray tower, bag dust collector, flue gas whitening system, induced air system, etc.
The activated carbon deep processing system includes: particle crushing and screening system, cleaning system, packaging system, grinding system and so on.

Activated carbon has many different types, with each containing different levels of iodine value, moisture and impurities. These features directly affect the furnace processing capacity and outcome.
