Product Description:

This product is mainly used for steam activation of a variety of charcoals, including coconut shell charcoal, palm shell charcoal, apricot shell charcoal, peach shell charcoal, walnut shell charcoal, bamboo charcoal, and hard miscellaneous charcoal.

The materials are heated to a high temperature within a certain range, while still being isolated from the air. When the materials enter the steam chamber of the activation furnace, tiny droplets of high-temperature water vapor is sprayed onto the surface of the material. This process helps open up the pores in the material, which then deeply reacts with the steam to form porous activated carbon.

The figure below demonstrates an activated carbon activation furnace. It consists of various systems, such as an ingest system, converter high-temperature heating system, steam system, flue gas treatment system, and a cooling system.

The carbonized material is fed into the oven through a conveyance system and then heated to a certain temperature. As it reaches this threshold, a certain amount of water vapor is spayed onto the carbonized material to create porous holes during a high-temperature state. This produces an activated carbon product. Next, the cooling system can be used to cool the product, after which, it is packaged and stored.

In the chemical industry, it is used to activate catalysts and adsorb impurities from process materials. In gold recovery, activated carbon is used to adsorb precious metals from solutions. It is also used widely in the industry for water purification, to decolorize alcohols, and for exhaust gas and toxic gas filtration, such as in gas masks.

Some of its lesser known applications include blood purification and anti-scrapie treatments.
