β- Human chorionic gonadotropin( β- HCG is a kind of glycoprotein hormone secreted by trophoblast cells of placenta. It enters into maternal blood after fertilization, proliferates rapidly in the first 8-10 weeks of pregnancy, and decreases slowly in the concentration before the 18th-20th weeks of pregnancy. It is a valuable index for pregnancy detection, β- HCG plays an important role in the diagnosis, differentiation and course observation of pregnancy related diseases and trophoblastic tumors
