BELT VF Series
Filter fabrics for horizontal vacuum filters are used for filtration of very fine inorganic suspensions, especially in the mining industry, and for gypsum filtration in flue gas desulphurization (FGD) plants.
To increase the ability of the belt to filter very small particles, some filters fabrics are made of the combination of PET monofilament and multifilament yarns (multifilament yarns filling apertures in the monofilament). One of the disadvantages of using multifilament yarns is a quick decrease in the air permeability of the fabric during operation, because blinding occurs faster than usual and consequently the fabric service life is shorter. In the past, we used different types of single or double layer monofilament fabrics with small apertures, capable of filtering very small particles without blinding. If the monofilament fabric is to have a large amount of small apertures, small-diameter monofilament yarn has to be used. On the other hand, the bending resistance of the monofilament fabric is lower than that of the multifilament fabric. If the monofilament fabric is installed on a large filter belt, the risk of rippling and damage to the fabric will be higher.
Nowadays, we offer a new generation of filter fabrics made of monofilament yarns. Thanks to their unique construction, they have great filtration and mechanical properties (including high bending resistance), which makes them suitable for wide belt filters with high demands on mechanical properties of the fabric.
