Description:
Toxo Antigen Rapid Test Cassette is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test cassette has a testing
window. The testing window has an invisible T (test) line region and C (control) line region. When sample is applied into the sample well
on the cassette, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If there is enough Toxoplasma gondii antigens in the sample, a visible T line will appear in the T region. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. By this means, the cassette can accurately indicate the presence of Toxoplasma Gondii antigen in the sample.
How to use?
-
Allow the test Cassette, specimen, buffer, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30 °C) prior to testing.
1. Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed within one hour.
2. For Serum/Plasma:
a. Collect fresh whole blood, and separate serum or plasma from blood as soon as possible to avoid hemolysis. Do not leave the specimens at room temperature for prolonged periods. Serum and plasma specimens may be stored at 2-8 °C for up to 3 days. For long term storage, specimens should be kept below -20 °C.
b. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 1 drop of sample (approximately 40 μL) and immediately add 2 drops of buffer (approximately 80 μL) into the specimen well(S), then start the timer.
For feces:
a. Collect fresh feces with swab provided. The amount of fecal swab as follows:
b. Insert the wet swab into the plastic tubes with buffer. Agitate it to assure good sample extraction.
c. Transfer 3 drops of extraction sample (approximately 120 μl) into the sample well.
3. Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 15 minutes is only considered as reference.

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: The presence of both C line and T line, regardless of T line being strong or faint.
Negative: Only clear C line appears.
Invalid: No colored line appears in C region, regardless of T line’s appearance.
