ASTM BS DIN Aac All Aluminum Conductor For Spans On Wood Poles
When high tensile strength is not needed, this wire can be used in spans on wood poles, transmission towers, and other structures. Extra high voltage (EHV) transmission lines and sub-service spans at distribution or usage voltages on private property are examples of applications.
Because it is lighter than other bare overhead conductors, AAC (all aluminum conductor) is the most cost-effective option. It makes using simpler fittings and conducting installation tasks easier. Because of its uniform design, the wire resists corrosion.
Service Performance
(1). The permissible long-time operating temperature for aerial conductors is 70oC.
(2). Under the circumstance that rare climate occurs and high ice coverage rate, the biggest stress of cable at the lowest point of the sag should not exceed 60% of the short-time destructive power.
