ASTM Standard AAAC Cable All Aluminum Alloy Stranded Cable Overhead Conductor

The AAAC conductor is made of 6201 Aluminum Alloy. The 9.5mm aluminum rod is made into aluminum monofilament after the wire drawing process. Its diameter is based on the conductor diameter required by the customer, after stranding, it becomes conductor.

AAAC conductors have good mechanical properties and electrical conductivity, and are mainly used in power transmission lines, such as transmitting power from remote hydropower stations, thermal power plants or nuclear power plants to substations in the suburbs of cities.

Description

1. Applications:

ACAR is used as bare cable for overhead transmission and distribution lines and also as bus-bar in substations where is highly suitable considering the mechanical and electrical characteristics.

As comparison with ACSR of same weight, ACAR can offers higher mechanical strength.

weight are critical to the line design.

3. Construction:

Wires of Aluminium 1350-H19 is concentrically stranded on Aluminium Alloy 6201 core. The number of wires of each one depends on the cable design.

In some cable constructions the wires of Aluminium Alloy 6201 can be distributed in layers throughout the Aluminium 1350-H19.
