2. Lost Foam Casting (LFC) Technology

• Lost Foam Casting is an advanced casting method. In this process, a foam pattern of the desired part is first created. For the anode yoke, a foam model with the shape and structure including the four stub positions is made. This foam pattern is then coated with a refractory material. When molten steel is poured over the coated foam pattern, the heat causes the foam to decompose and vaporize, and the molten steel fills the space left by the disappearing foam, solidifying to form the anode yoke with high precision and complex details that are difficult to achieve with traditional casting methods.

3. Anode Yoke

• The anode yoke is a crucial part in the aluminium smelting potroom reduction cell. It serves as a support structure for the anodes. In the context of aluminium production, anodes are essential for the electrochemical process that reduces alumina to aluminium. The anode yoke provides stability and proper positioning for the anodes within the cell.
• The design with four stubs has specific functionality. These stubs are connection points that play a vital role in the electrical and mechanical connection of the anode yoke within the reduction cell environment.
