Keypath p16/Ki-67 Immunoassay Test Kit(ICC)
Detection principle
- Using immunological antigen and antibody specific combination principle, and through antibody recombination enzyme marker color system to form complex, add enzyme substrate (chromogenic agent) to make the color to treat the detection of antigen localization, qualitative.
- p16 protein is expressed in the nucleus and cytoplasm. HPV E7 protein can cause abnormal overexpression of p16 protein by inactivating pRb, so its high expression is not only a sign of the presence of virus but also an indicator of virus activity. Ki-67 protein is associated with cell proliferation and is expressed in the nucleus. The high expression of KI-67 indicated that the cells were in a period of high proliferation, and the level of the marker index was related to the grade of cervical lesions. Studies showed that there was a positive correlation between the expression intensity of Ki-67 and P16 in cervical lesion cells. In normal exfoliated cells, the expression of the two antagonizes each other. Therefore, expression of P16 and Ki-67 proteins in the same cell indicates cell cycle disorder.
Advantages
Higher Specificity

Clinical Significance of p16/Ki-67 Dual Staining
- Dual staining for Cervical Cancer detection reduces waste of resources and avoiding potential hazard by over diagnosis
- p16/Ki-67 dual staining is independent from Morphology, easier for result interpretation.
- Reduce workload, improve image reading efficiency, and identify risk of pathological changes.
