1. Safety First: Wear protective gloves and ensure the engine is off and cool. Gather necessary tools and materials.
2. Locate Drain Plug: Position the drain pan under the oil pan. Remove the drain plug and let the oil drain completely.
3. Unscrew Old Filter: Use the oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the old oil filter. Dispose of it properly.
4. Prepare New Filter: Apply a small amount of fresh oil to the new filter's gasket to ensure a good seal.
5. Install New Filter: Screw the new filter onto the mount by hand until tight, then use the wrench to tighten an additional half-turn.
6. Recheck and Refill: Replace the drain plug, refill the engine with the recommended oil, and check for leaks after starting the engine.
