Auto controller can automatically adjusts the output of the controller according to the needs of the tension control, to obtain a constant tension or taper tension.It can be divided into the feedback type and calculation type and synchronous tension control type according to the principle of control settlement ,

Calculating type automatic tension controller uses proximity switch, encoder testing machine speed and calculate the volume of material roll , again according to the roll diameter and setted tension to calculate controller the output current (voltage).So as to achieve constant tension or taper tension control, it has no feedback tension and calculating model of tension controller is a kind of open loop control mode of the tension control.

After a roll winding/rewinding process is completed, whether the calculation type controller output roll diameter can be automatically return back to initial roll diameter , the calculation model controller is divided into Full automatic and semi-automatic two kinds.Full Automatic type can be automatically return back to initial roll diameter after the completion of the rolling process , semi-automatic type needs manual operation to revert to the initial roll diameter.
