Phenolic Moulding Compound are produced with with heated rollers or extruders.Treatment of a mixture of phenolic novolac resin,hexamethylenetetramine, fillers and additives leads to an intermediate, the actual moulding material. The polycondensation is driven so far that the moulding material in the final molding step can still flow, but so that the final cross-linking occurs very quickly. Especially important processing properties are good flow characteristics and rapid curing.
