Super Precision 22205 High Speed Roller Bearings CA Cage 25 X 52 X 18 mm
Self-aligning roller bearings consist of an inner ring with two raceways inclined at an angle to the bearing axis, an outer ring with a common spherical raceway, spherical rollers, cages and, in certain designs, also internal guide rings or center rings. The bearings can also be sealed.
Most spherical roller bearings are designed with two rows of rollers, allowing them to take very heavy radial loads and heavy axial loads. There are also designs with one row of rollers, suitable for lower radial loads and virtually no axial load. These are also called "barrel roller bearings" or "Tonnenlager" and are typically available in the 202- and 203-series.
The internal design of the bearing is not standardised by ISO, so it varies between different manufacturers and different series. Some features that may or may not exist in different bearings are:
>Lubrication features in inner or outer ring
>Central flange
>Guide ring or center ring
>Integrated seals
>Cage
External dimensions of spherical roller bearings are standardised by ISO in the standard ISO 15:1998. Some of the common series of spherical roller bearings are:

222 series Self-aligningl roller bearing
223 series Self-aligningl roller bearing

Self-aligningl roller bearing Materail
Basically, there are several common designs of Self-aligningl roller bearing , each offering various trade-offs. They can be made from many different materials, including: stainless steel, chrome steel, and ceramic (silicon nitride (Si3N4)). A hybrid ball bearing is a bearing with ceramic balls and races of metal. Following, we will show you the material for general self-aligning Roller Bearing 22205 CAW33C3 .
GCr15: basic material for bearing inner, outter ring and roller body
High carbon chrome bearing steel (GCr15) is the standard material for bearing rings & rolling elements, also carbon steel & stainless steel will be used upon request. The chemical composition of Gcr15 is listed in the below table.
PS: The choice of material is mainly done by the manufacturing volume and method. For large-volume bearings, cages are often of stamped sheet-metal or injection molded polyamide, whereas low volume manufacturers or low volume series often have cages of machined brass or machined steel. For some specific application, special material for coating (e.g. PTFE coated cylindrical bore for vibratory application) is adopted.

Cage materail:
Cages are typically used to secure the rolelrs in the self-aligningl roller bearing . In other construction types they may decrease the number of roller depending on the specific cage shape, and thus reduce the load capacity. Without cages the tangential position is stabilized by sliding of two convex surfaces on each other. With a cage the tangential position is stabilized by a sliding of a convex surface in a matched concave surface, which avoids dents in the balls and has lower friction. Caged roller bearings were invented by John Harrison in the mid-18th century as part of his work on chronographs. Caged bearings were used more frequently during wartime steel shortages for bicycle wheel bearings married to replaceable cups.
♦Steel cage
Generally speaking, HF or CRC cages are pressed steel ribbon cages & pressed steel snap cages. For extra-high speed application, synthetic-resin, stainless steel, nylons will be used upon request.

♦Brass cage
For the reason of that its chemical characteristic, it mainly used for the small and medium size bearing, and some working environment with relative high temperature.
♦Nylon cage
Similiar with brass cage, the nylon cage's own chemical characteristic, it is mainly used for the working envirionment temperature of -40 to +125 degree. The post popular materail is PA66 and the buyer can choose glass fiber reinforcement added, to enhandce the strength and elasticity.
Compared with steel and brass cage, it has better precision, and light in weight, which is helpful to realized in the applciaiton of
modern demand for the lightening for automobile car.
Dust shield and seal ring
♦ Dust shield
SPCC is the main material for the shields, and carbon steel & stainless steel ,like AISI-300 can be used upon request.
♦ Seal ring
NBR is standard sealing material we use, while fluorocabon, silicone, and teflon seals are commonly specified for high temperatures.

Warning:flurorubber is safe and harmless under normal working condition of below 200℃, but it will give off smoke if the temperature exceeds the ultimate temperature of 300℃ that is equivalent to flame for cutting steel tubes. Inhalation of the smoke is harmful to human bodies including eyes. In addition, the smoke should be avoided to contact skin. |
