The ball mill is the key crushing equipment after the materials have been crushed. It is widely used in cement, silicate, new
building materials, refractory materials, ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals as well as ceramics. It is widely applied to
crush ores in dry or wet way.
Working principle
The ball mill is a horizontal cylindrical rotating device driven by a large on-board device. There are two rooms and a network. The material enters the first chamber through the feed gate. Inside the first room are the stage liner and the steel bellows and balls. The projectile rotates to generate electricity and this force takes the ball to a certain height, the ball falls by gravity and the impact force is the grinding force on the material. During grinding, the material enters the second chamber through a special screen. In the second cavity there are flat liners and steel balls and the materials are discharged from the landfill after secondary pressing.
The ball mill is composed of a horizontal cylinder, a hollow shaft for feeding and discharging materials and a grinding head. The cylinder is a long cylinder with a body ground inside. Generally, it is a steel ball and is loaded into the cylinder according to different diameters and certain sizes. The milled body can also be made from steel segments. The material is selected according to the particle size of the ground material, and the material is loaded into the barrel through the hollow shaft at the feed end of the ball mill. When the ball mill barrel rotates, the grinding body adheres to the barrel lining due to inertia, centrifugal force and friction. It is removed from the cylinder and when it is brought to a certain height, due to its gravity it is thrown down and the falling grinding body crushes the materials in the cylinder like a projectile.

Ball Mill:
Ball Mill grinds material by rotating a cylinder with steel grinding balls, causing the balls to fall back into the cylinder and onto the material to be ground. The rotation is usually between 4 to 20 revolutions per minute, depending upon the diameter of the mill. The larger the diameter, the slower the rotation. If the peripheral speed of the mill is too great, it begins to act like a centrifuge and the balls do not fall back, but stay on the perimeter of the mill. The point where the mill becomes a centrifuge is called the "Critical Speed", and ball mills usually operate at 65% to 75% of the critical speed.
