What is Sperm (Cell) Morphological Stain (Shorr Method)?
Intended for staining spermatozoa for morphological analysis. Proteins with different isoelectric points in spermatozoon and cells carry different charges under the same pH and thus they will selectively bind to different dyes. The nucleus is composed of acidic substances, which have
strong affinity with basic dyes. The cytoplasm is the opposite, which contains alkaline substances and has greater affinity with acidic dyes.
Staining Result
Sperm acrosome zone was stained light blue, posterior of acrosome was stained deep blue or violet blue, middle section and tail was stained green.
