Testing Principle
Brucella is a Gram-negative small coccobacillus, typically stained using the Kozlowski staining method (Korotkoff stain). Brucella has a high affinity for safranin dye, and once stained, it is not easily counterstained by other dyes. Therefore, this kit uses safranin to stain Brucella, while employing a blue counterstain to contrast other bacteria and cells.
Stain Results
Brucella appears red, while other bacteria and cells are displayed in blue or gray-blue.
