The patch cord however, is not limited to the above applications. The ODVA to SC fiber patch cord have passed tests like salt mist, vibration and shock and meet protection class IP67. It can prevent water from the fiber connector very well and the cable is with very excellent wear resistance so it is an ideal solution for outdoor environment and do not need to add other protection so it is well suited for industrial, aerospace and defense. But due to the compact and full wrap design, SC should be simplex and can not be duplex because the fiber capacity is limit.
