Turning insert for nickel-base superalloy, WNMG080408-BDM1310
Nickel-based superalloy is a kind of alloy with high strength and certain oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperature 650 ~ 1000℃. According to the main properties, the nickel-base alloy can be subdivided into nickel base heat resistant alloy, nickel base corrosion resistant alloy, nickel base wear resistant alloy, nickel base precision alloy and nickel base shape memory alloy. For example Hastelloy, waspaloy,Inconel and Kovar series Nickel-base superalloy
The difficult points of cutting nickel-base superalloy:
1, High cutting resistance: it is about 2 to 3 times of cutting 45# steel.
2, High cutting temperature:The cutting temperature is high and increases rapidly with the increase of cutting speed , at least 50% higher than cutting steel #45 in the same cutting condition.
3, Working surface harden problem. The cutting surface can be harden to 50-100% harder than the working base.
4, The cutters wear quickly, because nickel-base superalloy is easy to stick to the cutter cause the adhesive wear, diffusion wear and oxidation wear.
To solve the above problems, we developed WNMG080408-BDM1310.
Which has below advantages.
1, Double big angle design, very sharp edge, low cutting resistance, can decrease the flute wear.
2, Special chip breaker and big chip pocket design.
3, Special insert edge design with better wear resistance, gives the insert longer service time.
4, Special coating with very smooth surface, make the chip removing smoothly.
Workpiece: Nickel-base 718 superalloy
