Carbohydrate Antigen 125 CA125 Elisa Test Kit

INTENDED USE

Detection Kit for Carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) (ELISA). It is used in quantitative tests for CA125 in human serum.

Summary

Carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) is a molecular weight of about 1000, 000 macromolecular. Its epitope is present in the protein. Lots of ovarian cancer can be found in women 55-75 years of age and older, rather than in younger women. The serum of CA125 are mostly greater than 400U/ml in patients with late stage ovarian cancer . In addition, CA125 also have diagnostic significance some of the digestive tract cancer, such as pancreatic cancer(positive rate:25%), gastric cancer (positive rate:33.3%). This reagent mainly is used for dynamic monitoring of cancer patients to determine disease progression or auxiliary therapeutic effect, but its concentration is not correlated with tumor size, growth, and the degree of malignancy grading / staging. In some benign diseases (such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, pancreatitis, hepatitis, etc.) can also be seen that the index increased in varying degrees, but the positive rate is low. In addition, pleural effusion and amniotic fluid can also be detected in higher concentrations of CA125. Therefore, the CA125 should not be considered an effective general screening test for the general population of cancer screening, early diagnosis and other purposes

PRINCIPLE

CA-125 uses a “sandwich principle”, Enzyme-linked immunological sorbent assay. To measure CA-125 levels in serum, plastic wells coated with a monoclonal antibodies of CA-125 are supplied in the kit. After the patient’s specimen and another mono-antibody labelled with HRP are added, CA-125, if present, is fixed to the solid phase antibody and creating a HRP-antibody~ CA-125~antibody “sandwich”. After TMB substrate added, the result is obtained by EIAplate reader.
