Carbon fiber plate is manufactured using 100% carbon fiber reinforcement and epoxy resin matrix, cured under pressure at elevated temperature to produce a carbon fiber sheet with engineering-grade mechanical properties and a class-A surface finish.
The plate has the classic 2/2 twill, 3k woven carbon fiber appearance with a pin-hole-free high gloss finish. The reverse of the sheet features an even textured 'peel ply' finish suitable for secondary bonding.
3K carbon fiber: The most popular, most common carbon fiber. It gives the plate a classic carbon fiber look. 3K is the workhorse of carbon fiber.
It's light, relatively stiff, and easy to get and make. 3K got higher elongation before failure and ultimate strength than 6K, 9K, or 12K. Because 3K is a smaller bundle of fibers, the thinner fabric can be woven than with 12k, or thinner tubing can be filament wound, but if the fiber is the same grade, stiffness, and strength are not affected by tow size. It is used in Aviation, industrial fields, architecture, sporting, and recreation goods.
