Roll Wrapped Carbon Fiber Kevlar Tube - Extremely Strong, Stiff and Lightweight
What is a Carbon Kevlar Tube?
A Carbon Kevlar Tube is a hollow, cylindrical structure made from a composite of carbon fiber and Kevlar fibers. These tubes are typically manufactured by layering the two materials in a specific pattern to leverage the benefits of both.
A Carbon Kevlar Tube combines the properties of carbon fiber and Kevlar to create a composite material that offers a unique combination of strength, stiffness, and durability, while also being relatively lightweight.
Carbon Fiber: Provides excellent tensile strength, stiffness, and lightweight.
Kevlar: Adds superior impact resistance and toughness, especially against abrasion, tearing, and deformation.
Our roll-wrapped carbon fiber tubes are manufactured by wrapping multiple layers of 12k UD and 3k twill/plain carbon fiber prepregs around a metal mold and then cured at high temperatures. The UD prepregs are used in core layers whereas the Twill/Plain is on the surface. Based on your requirements, we can also use Kevlar and glass fiber.
Available in matte and gloss finishings, these tubes are not only good-looking but also extremely stiff and strong. Such roll-wrapped tubes are available in round, square, rectangular, hexagon, and octagon shapes. All these tubes are custom-made based on the client’s requirements.
Common Applications of Carbon Fiber Tube
Carbon fiber tubes are extremely strong and stiff but lightweight. Hence, if you are looking for the strength of a steel/aluminum tube but at 1/3rd weight, our carbon fiber tubes are an ideal replacement.
