KINGDRILLING thread drill rods are made of high-intensity alloy steel. All the trails and threads are formed by high precision CNC machines. The thread is induced by induction hardening, then fast heating and cooling. The precision temperature controlled heat treatment equipment ensures the service life of the drill rod, improves the mechanical properties of the drill rod,
Holistic carburization increases the carbon content in the outer layer of drill rod, and hardened outer steel body. The solid thread can fit perfectly with the inner wall of the drill bits, and complete various roadway tunneling, underground mining and open pit drilling task in complex rock and terrain rough drilling with high precision and high efficiency .

FAQ:
1. What is a drill rod?
A drill rod is a form of bar stock machined to produce tools such as drill bits, taps, dowel pins, shafts, reamers, files, punches and hammers. It's soft enough to shape but can be heated up to revert back to the hardness. Drill rods are manufactured from tool steel that has been ground to a tight tolerance diameter.
2.What is pin and box thread?
A box and pin joint, also known as tool joint, is a component of drilling pipes that act as a coupling element to make up the drill string. The joint connects with the pipe by welding or with the help of a conical thread.
3. How are drill rods made?
Drill rods are manufactured by cutting a pin and a box thread directly onto the steel tube – the drill rod is therefore a one-piece construction. All standard wireline drill rod is manufactured in this way.
4. How do you harden a hardening drill rod?
HEAT TREATMENT Sections smaller than ¼” heat to 1450°-1475°F and hold until heated through. For larger sections, preheat to 1200°F, the raise to 1450°-1500°F to hardening temperature, hold one-half hour per inch of cross section. Quench in oil at 125°-150°F and TEMPER IMMEDIATELY.
