Cast Brass
A copper alloy with zinc as the main alloying element, usually called brass. The copper-zinc binary alloy is called ordinary brass, and a ternary, quaternary or multi-component brass composed of a small amount of other elements is added to the copper-zinc alloy, which is called special brass.
Compared with bronze, the solid solubility of zinc in copper is very high. At room temperature equilibrium, copper can dissolve about 37% of zinc, and in cast state, it can dissolve zinc by about 30%, while tin bronze. In the as-cast state, the solid solubility of tin in copper is only 5% to 6%, and the solid solubility of aluminum bronze aluminum in copper is only 7% to 8%. Therefore, zinc is very much in copper. Good solid solution strengthening effect, at the same time, most alloying elements can be dissolved in brass to different degrees, further improving its mechanical properties, thus making brass, especially some special brass, have high strength characteristics, the price of zinc It is lower than aluminum, copper and tin, and has abundant resources. The amount of zinc added in brass is more, so the cost of brass is lower than that of tin bronze and aluminum bronze.

Quality Inspection
The inspection of castings mainly includes dimensional inspection, visual inspection of appearance and surface, chemical composition analysis and mechanical property test. For castings that are more important or easy to cause problems in the casting process, non-destructive testing is required, which can be used for ductile iron castings. Non-destructive testing techniques for quality testing include liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing, radiation testing, ultrasonic testing, and vibration testing.
