DOC is the most important catalyst in diesel engine aftertreatment catalyst. Its main function is to oxidize unburned hydrocarbons (HC) in the engine and carbon monoxide (CO) produced during combustion into harmless water and carbon dioxide. At the same time, it can also convert NO in engine exhaust gas into NO2 for passive regeneration of downstream catalytic particulate trap (CDPF) and improve NOx conversion efficiency of selective reduction catalyst (SCR).
