The insert is curved and can withstand grenade shrapnel and armor piercing bullets (e.g. 7.62x51 M80 NATO , 7.62x39 AK47 MSC , 5.56x45 SS109 or M193 ) This insert gives a Level III protection in conjunction with (ICW) a Level IIIA vest.
