In major paper mills, guar gum has basically replaced starch as a strengthening, retention, filter aid and paper surface performance improver.

The non-ionic guar gum can make the fiber distribution in the pulp more uniform, resulting in the increase of the binding point between the fiber and the fiber and the polymer compound, so as to improve the dry strength of the paper.

Non-ionic guar gum can also be used for surface sizing, especially to improve the surface properties of paper: 1. It can improve the surface strength of the paper, improve the printability, and do not affect the air permeability of the paper; 2. Improve oil resistance and solvent resistance; 3.
