1. Descriptions:

Cationic guar gum is a cationic polymer purified and chemically modified from natural guar bean. It can be used as conditioner, thickener and suspension stabilizer in facial cleanser and liquid soap.

Caused by irritation from some surfactants, skin may become stiff, rough and cracked. Synerguar polymers protect skin in two ways: first, by lowering the critical micelle concentration to reduce the availability of free surfactant monomer; second, as polymer is adsorbed to skin surface, it reduces the area available for the free surfactant monomer to interact with skin. The consequence is less skin irritation.

In addition, some surfactants denature proteins. When proteinaceous material such as red blood cells is exposed to a surfactant system, the cell surface is denatured and ruptures releasing hemoglobin into solution. As cellular damage increases, more hemoglobin is released into solution which becomes increasingly red. Addition of Synerguar polymer to the surfactant system can dramatically reduces the release of hemoglobin. The result is less skin redness.
