Direct GRP to Prefabricated Fame work for Dry Freight Truck Body
Direct gluing of GRP to a prefabricated framework and mounting to Dry Freight Body
• this kind of construction for the sidewalls has a high demand on the stiffness, strength and thermal expansion of the GRP material, due the GRP is only glued partially on a framework and not fixed on the whole surface like on a sandwich panel (otherwise the GRP surface will become quite wavy at higher temperatures)
• the gluing on the framework is done with a combination of a double side PE-foam gluing tape and an flexible structural adhesive (1 component PU- or MS-polymer)
Dry Freight truck Box or van trailers are the most common type. They are quite simply a metal or composite box on wheels with some doors on the back, though some offer additional access doors on the sides.
The Dry Freight truck body we supplied with composite panels, Core Material with XPS, Waterproof Plywood, Honeycomb, composited with Surface material of FRP, Aluminum Plate or Steel Plate for different Dry Cargo box demands.

Dry Freight Panel Kits and Box •generally there are two common used construction systems for Dry Freight Bodies which need totally different material qualities: 1.Dry Freight Body made out of thinner sandwich panels and mounted by profile systems 2.Direct gluing of GRP to prefabricated framework parts which is afterwards mounted to a body. •the roofs of Dry Freight Bodies are often constructed as „translucent roofs“ with a „translucent“ GRP which is directly glued on an underconstruction for both mentioned upper constructions. | ||
Core Material : the thickness of the sandwich panels is depending on the size of the Dry Freight Body and on the used core material, typical values are for instance: •Plywood core material: approx. 15 – 20 mm 15 mm for smaller vehicles 20 mm for size up to 12 m in length •PP-Honeycomb core material: approx. 20 – 30 mm •XPS- / PU-foam: approx. 25 – 40 mm thinner for smaller truck bodies thicker for bigger truck bodies |
