Combine our laser cutting services with CNC machining
By definition, laser cutting or laser beam machining utilizes the thermal energy of a directed laser beam to vaporize, thermally stress crack, melt or burn material from a target area. Combined with modern CNC machine technology, laser cutting machines can be used for high-precision micromachining as well as high-volume and large-format cutting. Because laser cutting is a non-contact processing method, unlike milling, sawing, water jet cutting, etc., it does not scrape, deposit or spray any material on the part or work surface, which allows the laser cutting machine to remain extremely consistent and Fast cutting operations that require little downtime or tool changes, and provide CNC machinists with high-quality components to work in secondary operations.
Laser cutting beams are also very narrow, resulting in kerf widths as small as one thousandth of an inch, depending on material, laser power, and laser optics. In addition, laser cutting can cut materials to very fine surface finishes, at least in the range of over a hundred microinches. For some materials, the thermal cutting effect of the laser can be seen as a flame polished edge. The high precision and vibration-free cutting provided by the laser can also reduce the post-processing required to finish the part, which is especially time-consuming when trying to polish small-sized areas of complex parts after CNC milling
