1, the working principle of centrifugal pump
Before the pump starts, the pump and the inlet pipe are filled with water, after the pump runs, under the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the impeller, the water in the impeller channel is thrown around, pressed into the volute, the inlet of the impeller forms a vacuum, and the water in the pool is sucked along the suction pipe under the external atmospheric pressure to supplement this space. Then the inhaled water is thrown out by the impeller through the volute and into the outlet pipe. It can be seen that if the impeller of the centrifugal pump is constantly rotating, it can continuously absorb water and press water, and water can be continuously raised from a low place to a high place or a distance. In summary, the centrifugal pump is due to the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the impeller, the water is lifted to the height, so it is called the centrifugal pump.
2, the general characteristics of centrifugal pump
(1) The flow direction of water along the centrifugal pump is axial suction along the impeller, perpendicular to the axial outflow, that is, the flow direction in and out of 90°.
(2) Because the centrifugal pump forms vacuum water absorption by the inlet of the impeller, it is necessary to inject water into the pump and the suction tube before starting, or pump air to discharge the air to form a vacuum, and the pump shell and suction pipe must be strictly sealed, no air leakage, otherwise no vacuum is formed, it will not suck water.
(3) Because the inlet of the impeller cannot form an absolute vacuum, the suction height of the centrifugal pump cannot exceed 10 meters, and the loss along the water flow through the suction pipe, the actual allowable installation height (the height of the pump axis from the suction water surface) is far less than 10 meters. If the installation is too high, it will not absorb water; In addition, because the mountain area than the plain atmospheric pressure is low, so the same pump in the mountain area, especially in the high mountain installation, its installation height should be reduced, otherwise it can not suck water.
