JIS G3303:2008 Cold-reduced electrolytic tinplate strips for Packaging containers and kitchen utensils SPCC, MR
Electro Tin Plated (ETP) is a cold rolled thin carbon steel sheet with a tinned surface. The steel substrate provides the formability for specialized fabrication, and the alloy layer ensures the bond between the substrate and the tin layer, which not only brightens the surface of the steel and improves solderability, but is also an important factor in ensuring non-toxicity of the material in food packaging.
Tinplate's corrosion resistance, light weight and ductility make it an ideal material for many end products, including food packaging and consumer products. As production technology improves, tinplate will be used to produce even more new products.
Standard
GB/T 2520─2008, JIS G3303:2008
Advantages
- Superior Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion resistance requirements of various contents can be met by selecting the appropriate plating thickness.
- Outstanding Finishability
Able to be primed with various types of paints and inks.
Welding (including brazing) can be used to produce a wide variety of cans.
- Great Workability and Strength
Selection of an appropriate tempering grade satisfies the post-forming workability and strength requirements.
Tinplate surfaces are bright and shiny, and different surface roughnesses can be obtained by selecting substrates with different surface conditions.
Tinplate is most commonly used to make a variety of containers, such as food and beverage cans. However, its applications are not limited to container making; more recently, tinplate has also been used to make motor parts and many other products.
