The gloss of the paper is determined by the flatness of the surface of the paper. There are many factors that affect the gloss of the paper. Generally speaking, the higher the surface smoothness, the higher the gloss. The gloss level can be measured with a paper gloss meter.

Principle of paper gloss meter: The ratio of the reflected light flux of the sample in the specular reflection direction to the reflected light flux of the glass standard in the specular reflection direction under the conditions of the specified light source and receiver angle. The polished black glass having a refractive index of 1.567 has a specular gloss value of 100 (gloss unit) at a geometric angle of 60 degrees.

Description


NHG268 Portable Gloss Meter features with 20, 60 and 85° angle, manufactured according to ISO2813 and GB/T 9754. It is also compatible with the standards of ASTM D523, ASTM D2457. NHG268 conforms to JJG696 first class gloss meter working requirement, corresponding with CIE 1931(2°) under CIE C light source.

NHG268 gloss meter can test material with high gloss (0-2000Gu), and universally apply to paint, ink, stoving varnish, coating, wood products; marble, granite, vitrified polished tile, pottery brick and porcelain; plastic, paper; hardware industries, etc. for gloss measurement and gloss data transmission.
