Oil-air separator is the key component to determine the compressed air quality of air compressor. The high quality oil air separator, not only can guarantee the high efficiency of compressor, and the filter element's service life can reach thousands of hours.
The compressed air from the compressor head carries oil droplets of various sizes. Large oil droplets are easily separated when passing through the oil-air separator tank, while small oil droplets (oil particles suspended below 1um in diameter) must be filtered through the micron scale and fiberglass filter layer of the oil-air separator. The oil particles are directly intercepted by the filter material through the diffusion action of the filter material and the inertial collision condensation mechanism makes the suspended oil particles in the compressed air condense into large oil droplets rapidly. Under the action of gravity, oil accumulates at the bottom of the core and passes through the bottom.
The inlet of the return pipe in the groove flows back to the lubricating oil system of the machine head, making the compressed air discharged from the compressor more pure and oil-free. Solid particles in the compressed air pass through the oil core and stay in the filter layer, increasing the pressure difference (resistance) of the oil core.
With the increase of the service time of the oil-air separator, when the oil core pressure difference reaches 0.08 ~ 0.1mpa, the filter core must be replaced, otherwise the operating cost (power consumption) of the compressor will be increased.

Failure analysis of oil separator rupture of air compressor
1 The oil separator initially makes the pressure difference high, the resistance increases, and it is easy to bow the oil separator rupture.
2 The environment is poor, and the air compressor runs for a long time in a high dust environment. High pressure difference between inside and outside, easy to break the oil separator.

In the event of a jam or failure to open the minimum internal pressure (generally 4.5 to 5KG) and other failures, the pressure difference in the oil separator barrel is in a balanced state, and the internal pressure of the oil separator barrel is constantly increasing. The minimum pressure valve device suddenly tops and causes the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the oil separator to suddenly increase. The high negative pressure at the moment of production causes the high negative pressure to flatten or rupture the oil separator.
