Plain Rubber Pulley Lagging VS Diamond Rubber Pulley Lagging
Plain rubber pulley lagging is generally used on non-drive pulleys to offer greater traction for the conveyor belt without excessively increasing friction, which could cause the belt to wear faster.
Diamond rubber pulley lagging, another rubber lagging product, which is generally applied to pulleys that need more friction to the conveyor belt. The diamond grooved rubber is more flexible comparing with plain rubber.
Gaps in the rubber allow the lagging excess space to bend and move with the conveyor belt. The increased flexibility allows the rubber to maintain contact with the same part of the belt and prevents the belt from sliding. And the diamond grooved rubber lagging can drop water off the pulley, further get the belt away from slipping and material build up.
Why Use Pulley Lagging?
Pulley lagging is a layer of material bonded to the surface of a conveyor pulley. The pulley lagging is used to protect the conveyor pulley surface from damaging, increase the friction with the conveyor belt, extend the service life of the conveyor belt and conveyor pulley.
There are several different types of pulley lagging, such as plain rubber pulley lagging sheet, diamond pulley lagging sheet and ceramic pulley lagging sheet. Each type of pulley lagging sheet has different variations, specifications and are used for a variety of purposes.

Drive/Head Pulley – A conveyor pulley used for the purpose of driving a conveyor belt. Typically mounted in external bearings anddriven by an external drive source.
