T2 T6 Series Triple Tube Core Barrels with Plastic Coreliner
T2 Series Double Tube/Triple Tube Core Barrels
The T2 Series are thin wall double tube core barrel, used for surface exploration, especially mining applications. Due to their thin kerf, these core barrels provide rapid penetration. Available in diameters 46, 56, 66, 76, 86, 101mm.
T6 Series Double Tube/Triple Tube Core Barrels
These are a continuation of the T2 series, but of a sturdier design and available in larger diameters, 76, 86, 101, 116. 131 and 146mm. They are applied in surface mining and geotechnical drilling.
Coreliners are rigid, transparent PVC tubes with a wall thickness of approximately 1 mm, that fit snugly inside the core barrel inner tube.
Coreliners can be supplied to fit most types and sizes of core barrel - metric, DCDMA and wireline. It is normally supplied in standard 5-10ft lengths, with or without plastic end caps.
To use the coreliner system a modified Core Bit and Core lifter is required with reduced internal diamete. This is to ensure that there is adequate clearance for the core to fit into the plastic coreliner tube. Such "coreliner set" bits and core lifters are available on request.

Wireline drilling is the special method of removing the core. When the driller wants to remove core from a conventional core drill, the entire core barrel has to be removed from the hole. This is time-consuming, as each rod has to be removed one at a time. With wireline drilling, a barrel of core can be removed from the bottom of the hole without removing the rod string. When the driller wants to remove the core, an overshot is lowered on the end of a wireline. The overshot attaches to the back of the core barrel inner tube and the wireline is pulled back and the inner tube disengages itself from the barrel.
