Potentiostat cyclic voltammetry CS350M
Potentiostat cyclic voltammetry CS350M is the most advanced model among Corrtest single-channel potentiostat/galvanostat. It has all the techniques including EIS. Potentiostat cyclic voltammetry CS350M contains a fast digital function generator, high-speed data acquisition circuitry, a potentiostat and a galvanostat, and EIS /FRA module. Potentiostat cyclic voltammetry CS350M is widely used in various applications such as corrosion measurement, the carbon dioxide reduction, the electrocatalysis, battery testing, biosensor, etc. Potentiostat cyclic voltammetry CS350M includes EIS. Cyclic voltammetry is the most basic but key technique, all our Corrtest potentiostat/galvanostat has this function.
Cyclic voltammetry setup
A Cyclic voltammetry(CV) setup consists of several parts. The experiment is carried out in an electrochemical cell, which is a glass vessel that can hold the inserted electrodes, without any risk of the electrodes ever touching each other and causing a short. The cell has a three electrode setup. The first is the working electrode (WE) which is the electrode where the relevant electrochemical processes will happen. WE is usually made of an inert material like glassy carbon, platinum and gold with a high polish and a limited surface area. The reference electrode (RE) provides us with a potential based on a chemical reaction that is always happening at a very defined potential. Popular choices are saturated calomel and Ag/AgCl electrode. The counter electrode (CE) is meant to complete the circuit. CE is generally made of an inert material and should have a bigger surface area compared with the WE. Popular choices are platinum wires / Pt plate/Pt mesh, graphite rods etc.
What is Cyclic voltammetry?
Cyclic voltammetry (CV) is an electrochemical widely used to study the redox properties of a chemical species and characterize new electrochemical systems by changing the potential of the cell within certain limits and record the resulting current response. It gives information about the electron transfer processes that occur during oxidation and reduction reactions. Cyclic voltammetry is widely employed in various fields, including analytical chemistry, materials science, and electrochemistry.
Cyclic voltammetry is a versatile technique that can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as mechanistic investigations. It provides insights into the kinetics of electron transfer processes and is widely employed in the development and characterization of electrochemical systems and materials.
Cyclic voltammetry Applications
Cyclic voltammetry is a versatile method for scientific investigation because most processes involve electron transfer, which makes them be able to be studied by this technique. Its uses cover characterization, synthesis, mechanisms, and analysis. In all applications, cyclic voltammetry can work well with a large variety of compounds including organic, inorganic, polymer, films, and semiconductors and so on. Furthermore, the method operates satisfactorily whether in a direct or an indirect approach. As an analytical tool, it plays an important role electrochemistry.
