Production Method
In a medium bowl, dip the onions in buttermilk for 10 minutes.
Add flour to another medium bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
Work in batches and grab some onions with pliers. Shake off the excess buttermilk, then pour the onions into the flour mixture until completely coated. Set aside and repeat the remaining onions.
In a large pot over medium heat, heat about 2.5 cm of oil. When the oil flashes slightly, add onions and work in batches, then fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
Drain paper-lined dishes and season with salt.
