Description

Sliding shear is also an important cutting method for three cone drill bits. When the drill bit is drilling into high plastic rock layers, its cutting structure will produce relative sliding relative to the teeth. This sliding causes the cutting teeth of the drill bit to come into contact with the rock at a certain point in the wellbore, and its rotational speed is less than the revolution speed, resulting in shear fragmentation. Due to the fact that the shear strength of rocks is usually lower than their compressive strength, the efficiency of shear rock breaking is often greater than that of impact rock breaking. In addition, sliding shear can be more effectively achieved by designing super top, complex cone, and shifting axis for the cone bit body.
