Function and Feature Description
Basic function

The ES0D0G48VA00 has two units:

Data switching unit: consists of the CPU, switching chip, and physical layer (PHY).

PoE management unit: consists of the CPU and the Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM).

The ES0D0G48VA00 provides:

Forty-eight GE electrical ports for data transmission and line-speed switching

Power over Ethernet (PoE) function
Distributed forwarding Performs concurrent data forwarding using a distributed data plane.
Buffer 4 MB
Hot swap The ES0D0G48VA00 is hot swappable.

Usage Constraints

NOTICE:

An ES0D0G48VA00 card can be registered and used in a PoE chassis only when the following conditions are met:

A DIMM has been installed in the DIMM slot on the ES0D0G48VA00.

PoE power modules have been installed in the chassis and are working normally.

To use an ES0D0G48VA00 card in a non-PoE PoE chassis, do not install a DIMM module in the card. When used in a non-PoE chassis, the ES0D0G48VA00 card does not provide the PoE function.

Number Indicator Color Description
1 LINK/ACT indicator of an upper electrical port Green

Steady on: A link has been established on the port.

Blinking: The port is transmitting and receiving data.
2 LINK/ACT indicator of a lower electrical port
3 RUN/ALM: running status indicator Green

Steady on: The card has been powered on, but the software is not running.

Slow blinking: The card software is running properly.

Fast blinking: The card software is starting.
Red Steady on: The card has failed, and the fault requires manual intervention.
Yellow Steady on: The card is in power-off state. (For example, the card has been forcibly powered off using the power off command or is about to start.)

1 Forty-eight 10/100/1000BASE-T electrical ports. The electrical ports support the PoE function and can provide DC power for the directly connected devices such as IP phones, wireless access points (APs), and network cameras.
