2*1*1m Weave Gabion Baskets Galvanized/PVC Coated Iron Wire Mesh Gabion Box Retaining Wall
Product Description:
Gabion basket, also known as gabion box and gabion net, is a new type of ecological grid structure. It has been successfully applied to water conservancy projects, highways, railway projects and dike protection projects, and has well realized the organic combination of engineering structure and ecological environment. At the same time, compared with the traditional rigid structure, it has its own advantages and has become the preferred structural form for riverbed, landslide, debris flow, rockfall protection and environmental protection worldwide.
When your gabion walls are being used as erosion control, a civil engineer experienced in flood control and erosion prevention, should be consulted. Gabions are a proven method of halting river bank erosion, for both large rivers and small streams that are prone to flooding. Any river erosion system needs to be designed to cope with the expected peak river flood volumes, as this is when most damage to river banks and their erosion protection measures occurs. Flood events are often described as 1 in 100yr floods or 1 in 50yrs floods, and any river bank protection system needs to be able to cope with these flood events.

Gabion Basket Application:
Gabion mattresses are used as retaining walls to provide various prevention and protection projects, such as landslide prevention, erosion and erosion protection, as well as hydraulic and coastal protection for various types of rivers, seas and river courses. This gabion mattress system is made of a specially designed composite material, which maximizes its performance through a three-stage vegetation process from non-vegetation to vegetation establishment to vegetation maturation.
Bridge protection
Gabions offer excellent protection as soil stabilizers around bridges, bridge piers and abutment slopes. Generally, the degree of the slope to be protected shall determine what structure type is best suited for a specific application. Slopes with an angle of 1:1 or steeper usually require standard gabion retaining wall protection. Slopes with an angle of 1:1.5 or less may use a combination of gabion baskets and/or mattresses for slope protection.
Gabion mattresses used in channel for erosion protection
The cracks between the rocks used to pack gabions are frequently filled with soil to encourage plant growth, which makes gabion retaining walls ideal for projects where beauty is a must, such as controlling soil erosion along waterways that run through residential areas that need to be both long lasting and visually pleasing.
Installation Process
1. Ends, diaphragms, front and back panels are placed upright on the bottom section of wire mesh
2. Secure panels by screwing sprial binders through the mesh openings in adjacent panels
3. Stiffeners shall be placed across the corners, at 300mm from the corner. Providing a diagonal bracing, and crimped
4. Box gabion filled with graded stone by hand or with a shovel.
5. After filling, close the lid and secure with sprial binders at the diaphragms, ends, front and back.
6. When stacking tiers of the weled gabion, the lid of the lower tier may serve as base of the upper tier.Secure with sprial binders and add pre-formed stiffeners to exterior cells before filling with graded stones.
