The correct way to start the engine:

1. Ignition is prohibited at the oil pan and intake pipe:
To prevent fire, slow and coal fires are used to bake the oil pan of the engine at a distance, while the crankshaft is slowly turned to heat the oil evenly and thus lubricate all parts. If the engine fires and starts at the intake pipe, ash and hard debris from material combustion will be drawn into the cylinder, causing the intake and exhaust valves to close loosely and accelerating cylinder wear.
2. Do not use electric plug and flame preheater for a long time:
The heating element of a plug and flame preheater is a heating wire that consumes a lot of electricity and produces a lot of heat. Long-term use will damage the battery due to rapid discharge, but also burn out the heating wire. Therefore, the continuous use time of the electric plug should not exceed 1min each time, and the continuous use time of the flame preheater should be controlled within 20s.
3. Direct refueling to the cylinder is prohibited:
Adding oil to the cylinder can seal pressurization and improve the temperature, which is conducive to the cold start of the diesel engine, but the oil can not be completely burned, easy to produce carbon deposition, thus weakening the elasticity of the piston ring and reducing the sealing performance of the cylinder. It accelerates the wear of the cylinder liner, causes the engine to lose power, and makes it harder to start, so oil cannot be added directly to the cylinder.

• Greater resistance. Making liners separately from the engine block allows the use of special higher performance materials than those used for the construction of the block itself. Liners are generally made in special cast iron alloys containing elements with natural lubricating properties, like graphite. Other components are added like chrome, vanadium, and molybdenum to help ensure resistance to corrosion and wear caused by high temperatures.

• Easier maintenance. When liners are worn they can be replaced more easily than changing an entire cylinder block.

• Higher thermal conductivity. At operating temperatures the liners heat up more than the cylinders and must be able to expand in both diameter and length. If they were cast together with the cylinders, the resulting thermal loading would be high enough to fracture the materials.

• Less risk of defects. The more complex a casting, the more difficult it is to achieve perfectly even surfaces with low residual stresses.
