Laser lipolysis is a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat from fiber-optic lasers to melt body fat.The laser energy is transmitted through a very fine and flexible cannula with an optical fibre on the end. This optical fibre carries the laser light to the fatty tissue, melts the fat and heats the tissue which retracts the skin.
At 1470nm wavelength, efficient vaporization of the fat tissue can be easily achieved. On the other hand,it spurs the production of the protein collagen, making skin more taut.
In addition,the 980nm wavelength is a useful tool to coagulate the blood during the treatment.

Only a local anaesthetic and very small incision will be needed for the treatment.When the anaesthetic has taken hold, the doctor inserts the laser (which is inside a thin tube called a cannula) through the incision and into the fatty part.
