SGS Approved Dock Yokohama Pneumatic Rubber Fender for ship to ship
Description
The Yokohama pneumatic fender is a bumper with air as bumping media. Impact energy is absorbed by compressed air so that the ship can berth softly to protect the ship from bumping. The rubber fender is widely used for oil tankers, container vessels, yachts, ocean platforms, large wharf and naval ports, etc. It is suitable for ship berthing of all directions and has been widely used in many types of ship berthing in ports. It has various sizes of D0.5m*L1m – D4.5m*L12m. It can be protected by tire net chains and can be also used without the tire net as well.
Pneumatic rubber fender is the advanced anti-collision device for marine application the world today, use compressed air as medium to absorb the impact energy when ship to ship contact(STS) and ship to berthing(STB). Comparing with tradintional bumper style rubber fender, it has the following advantages: more energy absorbtion, less reverse impact on ships, less weight, easy installation, softer and economical, etc. So, pneumatic rubber fenders are widely used by large tankers, PG vessels, ocean platforms, large docks, harbor and wharves.

The Structures of Yokohama Floating Fenders
Pneumatic fender is constructed of an inner rubber, synthetic-tire-cord layer, and outer rubber. All of those shall be vulcanized firmly and proven by compress test.
- Outer rubber layer covers the outside of the fender to protect the cord layers and the inner liner rubber from abrasion and other external forces.
- Inner rubber layer of a rubber membrane that seals the pressurized air inside the fender.
- Synthetic-tyre-cord layer for reinforcement layer made of synthetic-tire-cord fabric, which maintains the internal air pressure of the fender.
Applications
● Offshore platforms
