Description
Polyurethane Foam Filled Fender is a floating type compression fender that is highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications. It consists of an outer Polyurethane protective layer, a reinforced rubber nylon cord fabric, as well as an internal space that is filled with foam as a medium to absorb collision. Foam fenders outer layer has an extremely low frictional resistance and is highly resistant to wear due to its strength. Impact force is efficiently absorbed by the foam fender, reducing the resultant force acted upon the wharf/vessel at the point of contact.
The use of memory foams for the fender core, which have high compressive strengths, results in an ability to absorb a great deal of energy during marine operations. This is complemented by low reaction , making berthing operations easier – especially in difficult conditions. Users also gain peace of mind from knowing that the closed cell structure of the foams used means that these fenders are virtually unsinkable and will keep functioning – even if damaged beyond viable repair.
Application wise, this kind of fender can be used for tugs, workboats, pilot boats and is suitable for open sea terminals, gravity ports, especially for large tidal wave docks. Foam fender is also a viable option for Ship-to-Ship (STS) operations.

Applications

Structure
The foam filled fenders are constructed of three parts each providing an important function in the construction and lifespan of the fender.
The three parts are (1) The closed cell polyurethane foam. (2) Outer nylon cord fabrics. (3) Polyurea spraying coat.
(1) Foam Core
The closed cell polyurethane foam core used inside offers un-sink ability during operation.
(2) Outer Nylon Cord Fabrics
The outer nylon cord fabrics is specifically designed to seal polyurethane foam inside ability during operation.
(3) Polyurea Spraying Coating
Polyurea coating is permanent spray on coatings that protect the surface of fender body. It is more durable than rubber and flexible in all weather conditions: no softening in heat or becoming brittle in cold. Dent, scratch and chemical resistant.
