NBR STS Oil Hose OCIMF2009 Technology Heavy Duty 12" Ship-to-Ship Operations
Description
STS Hose strings used during Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfers in a side-by-side configuration are a critical link between the two ships. They are subjected to repeated lifting, bending and folding and to the dynamic forces of ship movements at sea. All of these can result in loads and stresses within the hose. To provide greater reliability and longer life, STS hose should be handled, stored, maintained, inspected and tested correctly at appropriate intervals.
Construction
Inner Tube: Oil-resistant NBR and synthetic rubber inner tube. Inner layer of rubber compound with chemical and physical properties to be long-term resistant to the fluid and working conditions.
Reinforcement: Braided or spiral reinforcement, made of high tensile textile with stainless steel helix. Spiral very highly tensile steel wire to bear high pressure but allow flexibility of the hose.
Outer Cover: Oil and weather-resistant synthetic rubber outer cover. outer layer of rubber compound with chemical and physical properties to protect the reinforcement against ambient conditions and mechanical damage.
Flange: The ANSI150 ZINC PLATED flange fitting is used worldwide for connecting high-pressure hoses typically to pumps, motors and cylinders, where the hose assemblies are subjected to large pressure loadings. ANSI B16.5 Class 150 Flange for safe fluid handling. Designed for safe and easy with minimum operator intervention.

Advantages
Lining
Black nitrile rubber to convey crude oil and other liquid petroleum based products with a maximum aromatic content of 50%. Temperature range –20°C to +80°C (-4°F to 176°F).
Coupling system
Built-in vulcanised carbon steel nipples with galvanised ASTM A105 ANSI B16.5 150lb raised face slip-on welded or weld neck flanges. Other drillings are available.
Reinforcement
Multiple layers of high-strength synthetic tyre cord giving pressure and fatigue-resistance and rebound-resilience; ensuring that the hose resumes its circular cross-section and performance characteristics after temporary kinking which may occur during operation. Available electrically continuous or discontinuous.
Quality assurance
A486 oil hoses are designed in accordance to BSEN 1765:2004 type L15 and OCIMF STS Transfer Guide. Proof tested to 1.5 x working pressure with test and material certificates issued.
